I’ve developed a new Chrome Extension, “Reverse Image Search” which gives the ability to reverse search directly from the context menu of the image.

This extension uses Google reverse image engine for it.

To use it, you right-click with your mouse on the image to invoke the context menu and select “Reverse Image Search”.

You can download and install the extension here: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/reverse-image-search/jhppeidklkhfdbgmphjcgnflbaappjfk

Reverse image search chrome extension

What is a reverse image search?

Reverse image search is the ability to search by a specific image (and not by words) and find out where is the image shared or linked. It can also be used to find other resolutions of the same image or similar images.

It can be useful if you want to find out how popular an image is, or if there are credible sources for it.

I developed this extension because I wanted an easy way to find where are my photos (the one that I took) are hosted or linked. Some of my art photos were linked and displayed without any credits and I wanted to find out where.
